Sunshine Tahoe is in the business of creating long lasting strategic partnerships between businesses and not-for-profit organizations. What began as a three-year experiment to celebrate historic gems while raising funds for worthy causes, the Tour quickly became a sensation by selling out and attracting a waitlist every year since inception (2009). The beloved host of one of the most unique annual art hikes in the world identified, in 2007, a long-term goal - to bring a modified version for the young-at-heart of their unique event to local 3rd grade children.
The organization knew this goal would need crucial funds to assist with the extra time and resources required by schools to enable students to go "off-site" for such a unique and engaging field trip. Trails and Vistas also knew support from the community to keep the nationally renown artists in Truckee for an extra few days to continue performing would be critical. 2017 marked the 7th year funds raised through the Historic Haunted Tour provided Trails and Vistas signature outdoor art hikes to more than five hundred third grade students from Truckee, North Lake and Incline Village. ![]() Tickets for Trails and Vistas Art Hikes go on sale Earth Day of every year and is held the weekend after Labor Day Weekend in September. The annual event sells out in advance, book early at trailsandvistas.org.
