And, we're so excited to hear that Lindsay with an A from Truckee Tahoe's favorite 101.5 will be attending the tour this year with her mom who is coming in from Chicago and doesn't want to miss Truckee's Historic Haunted Tour after hearing so much about it! Wherever you are, enjoy listening live to 101.5.
Squeeze In will once again provide $10 gift cards to thank the tour's 300+ attendees for taking just a few minutes to share their feedback. Spread our gratitude by saying "thanks for supporting the Historic Haunted Tour" next time you're enjoying every bite of your favorite omelette in historic Truckee.

We're absolutely delighted the Truckee Donner Chamber of Commerce has granted the 2012 tour funds to educate citizens through oral history, showcase a few of Truckee's most famous haunts and encourage others, from near and far, to be a part of the very special fundraiser for Trails and Vistas and the Truckee Donner Historical Society.
Sponsorship offer exposure to drive business to our favorite local businesses and opportunities abound. Many sites are returning as 2012 sponsors because they’ve seen the positive results from being involved. Consider offering a gift certificate or discount coupon for the Tour’s 60 volunteers (or 300 attendees), donating something unique for the popular on site auction or perhaps offer refreshments for the docent kick off gathering or appreciation party. And, last but certainly not least, cash donations are welcome to benefit two outstanding Truckee nonprofits. Please contact us to learn more. In the coming weeks, we'll be announcing more sponsors and upcoming treats! Between dips in the lake, paddling and hiking our favorite trails, it's time for an update on the beneficiaries of the 2012 Tour. The creative team at Trails and Vistas is gearing up for art hike surprises during The Dreaming Tree on Sept. 8 and 9. This year the majority of art hikes will emphasize the splendor of art in nature through silence. Along the trail, not a word will be spoken as the breeze picks up, the water ripples and bodies move under the sun. Your guide will lead the way as your heart and senses tune into your surroundings and the original dance and music performances along the trail on Donner Summit. But, do not fear! Children, parents and anyone seeking a bit of conversation are encouraged to attend any one of the family hikes offered on Saturday and Sunday. The Truckee Donner Historical Society is hosting a new railroad exhibit at the Old Jail Museum which is open from 5 to 7 p.m. during Truckee Thursdays as well as on summer weekends. Though we've ventured inside the jail during past walking tours, you might feel less afraid during the warm days of summer. We've been busy selecting our haunts for 2012. Prepare to get spooked! Tickets will be available beginning Friday, September 7. |
